Community Foundation hosts King's Community Kickoff for paralegal scholarship expansion

Dubbed the King's Community Kickoff, this barbecue rib cook-off aims to raise funds for a full-ride paralegal scholarship. The scholarship, valued at approximately $6,000 to $7,000, will cover tuition and books for students pursuing an Associate's degree in paralegal studies at COS. The event is expected to attract around 1,000 attendees, with 20 to 40 teams competing for culinary glory.

The council emphasized the significance of these initiatives, not only in providing financial support but also in fostering a skilled workforce. Graduates from COS's paralegal program are well-prepared for the job market, often starting with salaries around $55,000, with potential earnings reaching into the high $80,000s for experienced professionals.
