Southlake prepares for 26th annual Stars and Stripes celebration on July 3

The Southlake City Council meeting held on June 17, 2025, focused primarily on preparations for the upcoming 26th annual Stars and Stripes celebration, scheduled for July 3, 2025. The event's success is supported by various sponsors, including Texas Capital Bank, which has returned as the presenting sponsor for the second consecutive year.

The meeting also included a public forum where community members shared their thoughts. Connie Cooley, president of the Southlake Historical Society, announced an upcoming exhibit titled "Modern Southlake," which will showcase the city's growth over the decades. Another resident, Colleen Golestan, spoke about the significance of Juneteenth and suggested that the city should commemorate it by flying the official Juneteenth flag.
