Joliet high schools honor nine students with college career pathway endorsements

The Joliet Township High School District 204 Board Meeting on June 17, 2025, celebrated the achievements of nine outstanding students from the Class of 2025 who earned the prestigious College and Career Pathway endorsement. This recognition highlights their commitment to career-focused learning and readiness for post-secondary education.

To qualify for this endorsement, students had to complete seven key components within their designated career pathways. These included engaging in two career exploration activities, completing two team-based challenges, and participating in at least 60 hours of career development experience or internship. Additionally, they needed to successfully finish two college prep courses, demonstrate readiness in English and math at the college level, and complete at least two courses within their chosen career pathway.

The honored students, representing both Joliet Central and Joliet West campuses, were recognized for their hard work and dedication. The list of awardees included Elizabeth Arriaga (Education Pathway), Ernesto Galmichi (STEM and Manufacturing Pathway), Valerie Hernandez (Health Science Technology Pathway), Jasmine Lopez (Health Science Pathway), Jocelyn Montesino (Health Science Technology Pathway), Brianna O'Coupe (Health Science Technology Pathway), Sarah Gans (Education Pathway), Luke Merritt (STEM and Manufacturing Pathway), and Mia Guerrero (Health Science Technology Pathway).

The meeting paused briefly to allow board members and attendees to congratulate the students and celebrate their accomplishments, reinforcing the district's commitment to fostering academic rigor and meaningful career preparation.
