Bullhead City Council appoints new Planning and Zoning Commission members

The Bullhead City Council convened on June 17, 2025, to address several key issues, including appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission and the approval of a new liquor license for a local sports bar.

During the meeting, the council unanimously approved the appointments of Bart Anderson, Stephen Brown, and Paul Bartha to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Each will serve a two-year term, with Anderson's term beginning on July 1, 2025, and expiring on June 30, 2027. The motion to appoint these individuals was met with strong support from council members.

In another significant discussion, the council held a public hearing regarding an application for a Series 12 restaurant liquor license submitted by Lynette Donna Rainos for Big Belly Nellie's Sports Bar and Grill, located at 1751 Highway 95. The application received no objections from the public, and the council voted in favor of recommending approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.

Additionally, the council approved a rebid for wiring and security equipment installation at the Bullhead City Animal Resource Center. The contract was awarded to My Alarm Tech LLC for $150,000, with the council also authorizing the transfer of $25,000 from the general fund contingency to support this project.

These decisions reflect the council's ongoing commitment to community development and support for local businesses. The next steps include finalizing the liquor license approval and moving forward with the Animal Resource Center project.
