Waco City Council appoints Robbie Bergerson as new fire chief

The City of Waco has officially appointed Robbie Bergerson as the new fire chief, marking a significant milestone for the local fire department. Brent Weatherbee, president of the Waco Professional Firefighters, emphasized the importance of having an internal candidate, stating, "We haven't had an internal candidate for about 10 years. The consistency that he's gonna bring is gonna be great for the department." The council unanimously approved the resolution to appoint Bergerson, with several members praising his character and deep connection to Waco. "Your commitment to the city of Waco and our fire department is incomparable," one council member stated, emphasizing the importance of continuity in leadership.
