Miami Planning Board approves utility easement vacation for affordable housing project

The City of Miami's Planning, Zoning, and Appeals Board convened on June 18, 2025, to discuss significant developments that promise to reshape local neighborhoods and enhance community resources. A key focus of the meeting was the approval of a resolution to vacate a 25-foot utility easement at 2000 Northwest Third Avenue, a move that is part of a broader initiative to facilitate the redevelopment of the site for affordable housing.

The proposal aims to enhance recreational access while adhering to environmental regulations, ensuring that the extension does not interfere with local boat traffic or the natural ecosystem.
