Woodland Park announces July 4 events and new teen center opening

The Woodland Park City Council meeting on June 19, 2025, highlighted an exciting lineup of community events for the upcoming July 4th celebrations. The day will kick off with the traditional Fourth of July festivities at Memorial Park, running from 8 AM to 3 PM, culminating in the much-anticipated "Symphony Above the Clouds" concert and a spectacular 20-minute fireworks display, marking the return of fireworks after a hiatus since 2019.

Council members emphasized the importance of favorable weather conditions for the fireworks, humorously urging for rain in the days leading up to the event but none on the Fourth itself. The community is eager to celebrate this long-awaited occasion.

In addition to the July 4th events, the council announced the America's Mountain Festival on July 5, which will open its gates at noon. Residents were encouraged to visit the festival's website for more details.

Further community engagement is planned with a series of meetings starting July 9, where the Teller County Board of County Commissioners will discuss the future of short-term rentals in the area. These meetings will take place at different locations each Wednesday until August 6.

The council also shared information about a community concert featuring Harriet and the Harmony on July 9, and a free outdoor movie screening of "Paddington in Peru" on June 20, set to begin at sunset.

Lastly, the meeting noted the establishment of a new teen center called The Edge, located at 510 Midland Avenue, which will be open Tuesday through Friday, providing a safe space for local youth.
