Otay's Mister Tapia celebrates championship team and community school logo contest winners

Under the bright lights of the Sweetwater Union High School District Board of Trustees meeting, excitement filled the air as community members gathered to celebrate achievements both on and off the field. The atmosphere was charged with pride as Mister Tapia, a dedicated coach from Otay High School, took the podium to express gratitude for the support he and his team received throughout the year. The excitement crescendoed as the winners were announced. Lily Guzman took home third place, followed by Allura Douglas in second. The top honor went to Carmi Hurtado from Montgomery, who not only received accolades but also a personal $100 prize from a committee member, emphasizing the board's commitment to encouraging student engagement and creativity.
