Brentwood Union Free School District is celebrating a remarkable achievement as the high school step team, known as the Explosive Steppers, has been awarded the title of Most Influential Co-Ed Team of 2024 by the House Party National Step League. This prestigious recognition is particularly noteworthy as they are the only team from New York State to receive this honor, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication.

In addition to this accolade, the district's varsity cheerleading team also made headlines after their impressive performance at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) regional competition held at Iona University. The cheerleaders secured two first-place wins, earning them a spot to compete in the upcoming national championships in Florida.
