Chase Bank plans new site at Westridge shopping center in NAC 5

The Citywide Planning Department of Frederick held a community outreach meeting on June 23, 2025, to discuss various projects submitted by local Neighborhood Advisory Councils (NACs). The meeting was structured to allow applicants to present their projects, with city planners facilitating the discussions.

The agenda focused on specific projects from different NACs, although not all councils had active proposals. The meeting began with an overview of the process, led by planners Sherry Kelly and Christina Roderick. They explained that applicants would present their plans, followed by a public comment period, which included an option for remote participants to submit questions online.

The first project discussed was a final site plan for a new Chase Bank located at 1009 West Patrick Street in the Westridge shopping center. This site was recently rezoned for mixed-use development. The proposal involves demolishing an existing structure, a former bank, to construct a new 2,967 square-foot facility that will include a drive-through service.

The meeting provided a platform for community engagement, allowing residents to learn about local developments and voice their opinions. As the city continues to grow, such outreach efforts are crucial for fostering transparency and collaboration between city officials and the community. Further discussions on additional projects from other NACs are expected in future meetings.
