Tuscaloosa City Schools team wins national PR awards in St. Louis

The Tuscaloosa City Schools Regular Board Meeting held on June 24, 2025, highlighted significant achievements in public relations and communications. The meeting began with a recognition of the Public Relations team, led by Miss Lydia Avant, who was commended for their outstanding work that garnered national accolades from the National School PR Association.

The team received multiple awards, including the prestigious Publication and Digital Media Award for their annual report, as well as an Award of Excellence for their financial publication. Additionally, they were recognized for a single video in-house award of merit for "Everyday Amazing," and received honorable mentions for both a video and photography project titled "Under the Sea" by team members Eddie McClinton and Dave Crutchfield.

Miss Avant and Mr. Crutchfield were invited to the podium to discuss their work.
