Norwood Concert Committee unveils summer series with jazz and community support

The Town of Norwood is gearing up for a vibrant summer with the announcement of its 2025 Summer Concert Series, featuring a diverse lineup of performances that promise to bring the community together. The concert series, which includes Wednesday night concerts and Sunday performances, will kick off on July 4 with a special carillon open tower play, followed by a series of concerts throughout July and August.

The Wednesday night concerts will commence on July 6 at 6:30 PM on the Town Common, starting with a tribute performance by the Legacy of Paul Alberta Jazz Orchestra, sponsored by 1 Bistro. This concert honors the late music director of Norwood High School and is part of a lineup that includes a mix of genres from rock to jazz, featuring bands like Roundhouse, Sweet Harmony, and the Love Dogs.

Sundays will also be filled with music, with eight performances scheduled from July 6 through August 24. Highlights include the Compact Big Band and the Rory Scott Big Band, culminating in a performance by Dan Gable and his orchestra on August 24. The concerts will begin at 6:30 PM, providing a perfect evening outing for families and music lovers alike.

Additionally, the Carillon Series, now in its 40th season, will feature performances every Monday evening, showcasing talented carillon players from around the world. The series will include a special performance on July 4, following the town's Independence Day celebrations.
