Arlington ISD Board ratifies appointments for new elementary principal and curriculum director

The Arlington Independent School District (AISD) Board of Trustees made significant strides in leadership during their called meeting on June 26, 2025, by ratifying key administrative appointments that promise to enhance educational excellence within the district.

The board unanimously approved the appointments of Keisha Edwards as the new principal of Ellis Elementary and Delise Hardy as the executive director of curriculum and instruction. Both leaders bring extensive experience and a commitment to student success, which is expected to positively impact the AISD community.

Keisha Edwards, who has over 20 years of experience in public education, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead Ellis Elementary. She highlighted her dedication to fostering student growth and academic excellence, drawing on her background in instructional leadership and special education. Edwards emphasized her excitement to collaborate with the dedicated staff and community at Ellis, stating, "I look forward to the great work that we will accomplish together."

Delise Hardy, with nearly 25 years in public education, was also welcomed warmly. She has a strong background in bilingual education and has been instrumental in advancing innovative language programs. Hardy expressed her eagerness to continue advocating for student achievement and to work alongside her new team in curriculum and instruction.

The meeting also featured a moment of community engagement, with students Catherine and Luke Crossnow leading the Pledge of Allegiance, showcasing the district's commitment to involving families and students in school activities.
