During her speech, Jayla expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted her journey as an Asian American woman, hoping to inspire future generations of students. She acknowledged the support of her peers and the mentorship of Alexander Calder, the DECA instructor who revitalized the chapter and provided students with opportunities to develop real-world skills.

The meeting also included the adoption of citations and certificates recognizing various contributions to the community. Supervisor Vincent requested to be added as a co-sponsor to one of the citations, which was unanimously adopted by the board.

As the meeting transitioned to discussions on Pride Month, Supervisor Sean Rolland took the floor to celebrate the occasion, further emphasizing the board's commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.
