Cornwall Central High School celebrates class of 2025 and honors retiring staff

Proud parents, friends, and family gathered to celebrate the Cornwall Central High School Class of 2025 during a heartfelt graduation ceremony on June 27, 2025. The event highlighted not only the achievements of the graduates but also honored the dedication of retiring staff members who have shaped the school community.

Five esteemed faculty members concluded their careers this year, each contributing decades of service to Cornwall Central High School. Among them were Matt Cook, a social studies teacher with 30 years of experience; Julie Moran, an academic intervention services teacher for 35 years; Brian Creedon, a business teacher and coach also with 35 years; and Kathy Finnerty, known as "Kathy Security," who dedicated 21 years to the school. Their commitment and impact on students were acknowledged with gratitude as they were invited to cross the stage one last time.

The Class of 2025, consisting of 249 graduates, was celebrated for their remarkable achievements in academics, arts, athletics, and community service. The graduates have collectively earned significant scholarships and awards for their higher education pursuits. The ceremony emphasized the leadership and compassion of the students, which have contributed to a stronger school community.

In a touching moment, the graduates were encouraged to applaud their supporters—parents, guardians, mentors, and teachers—who have played vital roles in their journeys. The ceremony also recognized those graduates who have committed to serving in the military, honoring their bravery and sacrifice.
