Laramie planning commission launches comprehensive plan 2045 update with Clary and Associates

The Laramie Planning Commission held a pivotal meeting on June 23, 2025, marking the beginning of a comprehensive update to the city’s long-range plan, known as the Comprehensive Plan 2045. This initiative aims to shape Laramie's growth and development over the next two decades, addressing critical areas such as housing, transportation, sustainability, economic development, and land use.

In addition to the comprehensive plan discussions, the commission, acting as the Laramie Board of Adjustment, reviewed a variance request from Benjamin Hunke concerning a property at 2280 Riverside Drive. The request involved altering a lot line for a landlocked parcel that lacked legal access. City staff recommended denial of the request, citing concerns about compliance and potential precedent for future subdivisions. However, after thorough deliberation, the commission approved the variance, taking into account the specific circumstances of the site.
