AT and T proposes service operations center expansion in Pembroke Pines

AT&T is set to enhance its Pembroke Pines operations with a significant site plan amendment aimed at improving safety and efficiency for its service vehicles. During the Planning and Zoning Board meeting on June 26, 2025, attorney Leslie Lewis presented the proposal, which includes the installation of a new gate at the Pembroke Pines service operations center located at 13900 Pines Boulevard.

The proposed changes will allow approximately 130 service vehicles to exit the property more directly, reducing the current five-mile detour they must navigate to reach their work sites. This adjustment not only streamlines operations but also aims to alleviate traffic congestion on surrounding roads, which are currently burdened by unnecessary vehicle movement.

Lewis emphasized the importance of safety in the proposal, noting that the new access point will provide a more secure route for service personnel. The design includes a wider driveway, measuring 20 feet, which was requested by the fire department to ensure emergency access.

The board's discussion highlighted the operational benefits of the amendment, with Lewis stating that the changes would significantly improve the efficiency of AT&T's service delivery. The meeting underscored the company's commitment to enhancing its infrastructure while addressing community concerns about traffic and safety.
