Lapeer County commissioners approve new mental health services location and software tool

Lapeer County officials made significant strides in enhancing community services and operational efficiency during the Full Board Meeting held on June 26, 2025. One of the most impactful resolutions was the authorization for Community Mental Health to proceed with architectural drawings for relocating children and autism services to a new facility at 1505 Suncrest Drive. Additionally, the Board approved a new compensation and evaluation tool through Paycom, costing approximately $14,690 annually. This tool is designed to streamline performance reviews and budgeting processes, ultimately enhancing accountability and efficiency within county departments.

The meeting concluded with discussions on updating the county's drug and alcohol policy, which has received preliminary support from nine of the eleven bargaining units involved. The updated policy aims to address concerns raised by union members, particularly those in law enforcement.
