Cape Way Roofing awarded North Falmouth roof project after competitive bidding process

Falmouth Public Schools is moving forward with the North Falmouth roof project after successfully navigating a detailed procurement process. The School Committee meeting on June 24, 2025, highlighted the project's progress, which began with a comprehensive study of roofing needs across three schools, ultimately determining that North Falmouth required immediate attention.

The project, initially budgeted at $4.9 million, received overwhelming support from town voters, paving the way for its advancement. The committee emphasized the importance of selecting experienced contractors and project managers, leading to the re-engagement of Cape Way Roofing, the same company that completed the T Ticket roofing project under budget and on time in 2022.

The procurement process included a request for qualifications (RFQ) to ensure that the selected firms had the necessary expertise in school projects. The committee chose Westfield as the owner's project manager and SLAM Collaborative as the architect, both of whom had previously demonstrated their capabilities.

Despite a bid protest from a citizen, the committee is confident in the process and the selected team. The project is now underway, with construction having commenced recently, and the committee is optimistic about meeting the timeline for completion before the school year begins in September.
