Bayshore High School celebrates class of 2025 at annual graduation ceremony

Bay Shore High School celebrated its 127th annual graduation ceremony on June 27, 2025, honoring the achievements of the Class of 2025. The event was marked by heartfelt acknowledgments of the students, faculty, and community members who contributed to the graduates' success.

The ceremony began with musical performances from the school's band and wind ensemble, directed by Miss Malpovi and Mrs. White, followed by the concert choir's rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. A special moment was dedicated to recognizing seniors who will serve in the military, with graduate Peter Balasco leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

In his opening remarks, the principal expressed gratitude towards the administration, faculty, and district office staff for their unwavering support in preparing students for this significant milestone. Key figures in the district, including Superintendent Dr. Steven Maloney and various assistant superintendents, were acknowledged for their roles in maintaining educational quality.

The ceremony also featured members of the Bayshore Board of Education, including Vice President Susan Gargan and trustees Andrew Arcuri, Jennifer Browniard, and Guy Leggeo, who were recognized for their commitment to educational policy and community service.

Assistant principals Dr. Michelle Garrett and Mr. Peter Rao were commended for their efforts in organizing the event, alongside faculty members Miss Side and Mr. Selzer, who played crucial roles in planning the ceremony. The contributions of building employees, including food service, security, and custodial staff, were also highlighted, with a special mention of retirees who have served the school community.
