The Muscogee County School Board held a meeting on June 23, 2025, where several important topics were discussed, including the student code of conduct and the upcoming retirements of key district officials.

One of the main agenda items was the student code of conduct, which will remain under review for 30 days. This allows for community feedback before any final decisions are made.

The meeting also marked the last for Mr. Matt Bell, who will officially conclude his tenure with the Muscogee County School District on June 30. A farewell reception for Mr. Bell is scheduled for the following Monday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the museum's Galleria section. Board members expressed their gratitude for his service and contributions to the district.

Additionally, Dr. Vickers Ward, who is set to retire on August 1, was also acknowledged during the meeting. Board members thanked both Mr. Bell and Dr. Ward for their dedication to the students and the school district.

In other business, the board approved the consent agenda, which included a motion by Ms. Frey and a second by Ms. Jackson. There was a brief discussion regarding a typographical error in the student handbook draft, which was noted for correction.

Looking ahead, the board will hold only one meeting in July, scheduled for the 21st. They also discussed the need for members to complete assessments for their exemplary board application and encouraged submissions for committee service.

The meeting underscored the district's commitment to maintaining open communication with the community and recognizing the contributions of its long-serving members.
