Leavenworth rolls out 15-minute free parking with new registration process

However, the committee reminded residents to avoid using the free parking in restricted areas, such as loading zones or permit stalls. The discussion also touched on the challenges faced with previous parking sensors, which had poor sensitivity and failed to register vehicles accurately.

In addition to the new parking meter system, the committee addressed the potential for residential parking zones. These zones would allow residents to obtain permits, limiting parking for non-residents in specific areas. Despite the program's availability, interest has been low, with only three inquiries since its inception. Committee members encouraged residents to collaborate and express their interest in establishing these zones to help manage parking more effectively.
