Among the standout moments was the celebration of the Best Buddies Club's participation in the Boo Ball at Eastport South Manor School District, an event that brought joy to both students and the community. The meeting also featured Northport High School's lead class, which produced live performances focused on Halloween safety, demonstrating the students' creativity and commitment to community awareness.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to education, Katie Lake, a special education teacher at East Northport Middle School, was honored as a Long Island School Hero by the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying. This accolade highlights her dedication to bullying prevention and her positive impact on students. Additionally, math teacher Simone Knight Glenn Kubik will receive a lifetime achievement award from St. Joseph's University, further underscoring the district's commitment to educational excellence.
