Richmond celebrates Independence Day with fireworks and live music at Lake Reba Park

The City of Richmond held a meeting on June 24, 2025, to discuss the upcoming July 4th Independence Day celebration at Lake Reba Park. Public Information Officer Kelly McBride and Parks and Recreation Director Erin Moore provided key details about the event, which is set to begin at 5 PM on Friday, July 4.

The celebration will feature a variety of food vendors and beverages located on the soccer fields, which also serve as the prime viewing area for the fireworks display scheduled for 10 PM. Attendees can expect ample parking options, although the playground parking lot will be closed to accommodate vendor setups. Alternative parking will be available at several nearby locations, including the grassy areas by the lake, Paradise Cove, Gibson Bay Golf Course, and Little League fields.

Moore highlighted that the miniature golf course at Adventure Falls will be free after 5 PM, along with complimentary access to the pool in the afternoon. Safety measures will be in place, with police stations located near the basketball courts and the park entrance for assistance with lost items or emergencies.

Live entertainment will feature performances from Dee Boone Pittman, Nick Caseta, and TD Young, who will also sing the national anthem before the fireworks. Attendees are permitted to bring their own grills, but must adhere to safety guidelines regarding coal disposal and are prohibited from using fireworks or sparklers in the park.

As the event concludes, traffic management will be implemented to ensure a smooth exit from the park. Police will close off certain roads to through traffic after the fireworks, directing attendees to specific lanes for efficient dispersal. Adventure Falls will remain open until 11 PM for those wishing to enjoy mini golf while waiting to exit.

The meeting concluded with a reminder that July 4th also marks the City of Richmond's birthday, encouraging community participation in the festivities.
