Holly Primary School donates $655 to support community initiatives

The Elwood Union Free School District Board of Education convened on December 12, 2024, to discuss various agenda items, including significant donations and the consent agenda.

The meeting began with the acceptance of several donations. The board expressed gratitude for a donation from the Holly Primary School aftercare program, which contributed a total of $655. This donation was made in honor of Vincent Kupora Harafi, a valued member of the school community. Additionally, the Harley Avenue PTA and the Ella Middle School PTA each donated $500 to support the esteemed fair for grades 6 to 8.

Following the acknowledgment of these donations, Board Member Mr. Edwards made a motion to accept the donations, which was seconded by Mr. Scrolin. The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 5-0.

The board then moved on to the consent agenda. A motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Ms. Weiss and seconded by Mr. Scrolin. There were no questions or comments regarding the consent agenda, leading to its swift approval.
