Middletown High School names Jamara Perez 2025 valedictorian

Middletown High School celebrated a remarkable achievement as it introduced Jamara Perez as the valedictorian for the Class of 2025. Assistant Principal Miss Carter highlighted Perez's impressive academic journey, noting her consistent high honors and outstanding GPA throughout her four years at the school.

Jamara, daughter of Meritor and Javier Perez, has excelled in advanced placement courses, including English language and composition, U.S. government and politics, and calculus. Her academic prowess is matched by her leadership skills, serving as co-president of DECA and earning multiple medals at the Olympics of Business Education in Orlando, Florida.

Beyond academics, Jamara has made significant contributions to the school community. As vice president of the debate society, she led her team to an undefeated season, and her involvement in the MHS robotics team has seen her qualify for both regional and world championships.

Her impact extends to journalism as the editor-in-chief of the Blueprints School newspaper, where she revitalized student voices. Jamara has also been a mentor to freshmen and a champion for social change through her role as co-president of Student Education and Activism in Middletown.

Her dedication to service is evident through her volunteer work at the Middletown High School Performing Arts Center and the Saint Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen. Jamara's achievements have earned her numerous accolades, including the Yale Book Award and the AP Scholar Award with honors.

Mr. Sam Falconberry, her robotics and engineering teacher, praised her unique perspective and commitment to pursuing a career in mechanical engineering, emphasizing her authenticity and character. Jamara Perez stands as a shining example of excellence and leadership, setting a high bar for future graduates.
