Oak Hills Park Golf Course boosts revenue with extended hours and family-friendly initiatives

The Oak Hills Park Authority reported a successful start to the summer golf season during a recent meeting, highlighting increased participation and revenue at the course. Golf Professional Paul shared that June has seen a surge in young players, with the course experiencing high demand for tee times, particularly in the late afternoon. To accommodate this, the closing time has been adjusted to 6:30 PM, allowing for more play and additional revenue generation.

In response to the growing interest, the course has introduced new options for golfers, including 9-hole rates and extended tee times for beginners and families. This initiative aims to make golf more accessible and enjoyable for newcomers, particularly children and families looking to spend quality time together on the course.

The golf staff, now at 35 members, is noted as the best in 14 years, with recent hires contributing positively to operations. Membership numbers have also seen a slight increase, with 1,097 memberships recorded since January, compared to 1,090 at the same time last year. The upcoming membership sale in July is expected to attract even more participants.

The meeting also touched on the success of various outings and events, with six outings completed and 15 more scheduled for the season. Recent events, including a Titleist golf ball fitting and a Callaway demo day, were well-attended, showcasing the community's engagement with the golf program.

As the summer progresses, Oak Hills Park anticipates continued high activity levels, with plans to maintain the momentum through September. The focus remains on enhancing the golfing experience for all community members, ensuring that Oak Hills Park remains a vibrant hub for local golf enthusiasts.
