Oldham County Schools honors national board certified teachers and school board members

During the recent Oldham County Board of Education meeting, significant recognition was given to educators and board members who have made notable contributions to the community.

The highlight of the evening was the acknowledgment of five teachers who achieved National Board Certification, a prestigious credential that signifies their commitment to excellence in teaching. Additionally, seven teachers renewed their certification, demonstrating ongoing dedication to professional growth. National Board Certification is a rigorous process that requires teachers to analyze their teaching practices, submit evidence of student growth, and pass a comprehensive exam. With only about 3% of teachers nationwide holding this certification, the accomplishment is a testament to the high standards of education in Oldham County.

The newly certified teachers recognized were Amanda Brown, Lindsay Kennedy, Elaine Dillard, Megan Rose, and Vicky Siebert. Those who renewed their certification included Julie Adlick, Lindsay Gilpin, Catherine Mabry, Rosalind Manning, Mandy Morris, Rachel Chardon, and Brooke Wiseman. The board and community celebrated their achievements with applause, highlighting the importance of skilled educators in enhancing student success.

In addition to honoring teachers, the board also recognized its members during January's School Board Recognition Month. Board members Suzanne Hundley, Carly Klim, Allison Sheffer, Adam Springer, and Joe Dennis were commended for their dedication and service to the students and families of Oldham County.
