During the recent Marlboro Central School District Board of Education workshop meeting on December 5, 2024, the spotlight shone brightly on the Lions Club Peace Poster Contest, celebrating the artistic talents of local middle school students. The contest, themed "Peace Without Limits," showcased a variety of impressive artwork created by students, with the aim of promoting peace and understanding.

The event marked a significant achievement for the Marlboro Milton Lions Club, as this year’s winner not only excelled at the club level but also advanced to compete at the district level, and now has the opportunity to represent the club at the state level. This is only the second time in the club's history that a winner has progressed this far, highlighting the exceptional quality of the students' submissions.

Certificates were awarded to all participants, with special recognition given to the contest winner, Juliana Scaturra, who received a $100 gift card from the district and an additional $50 from the Lions Club. The art teacher, who was unable to attend, was also acknowledged with a $100 gift card for art supplies, emphasizing the collaborative effort behind the students' success.

The event not only celebrated individual achievements but also fostered community spirit, as families and friends gathered to support the young artists. The Lions Club's initiative serves as a reminder of the importance of encouraging creativity and dialogue among youth, particularly on themes as vital as peace.
