CVCC honors students at SkillsUSA conference and celebrates nursing class of 2026

During the recent Nordonia Board of Education meeting, key highlights focused on student achievements and community engagement within the Nordonia Hills City School District. The meeting commenced with a report from Mr. Varoz, who was unable to attend due to another commitment. His report celebrated the accomplishments of students who represented the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (CVCC) at the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. These students, having excelled at the state level, showcased their skills in Atlanta, Georgia, emphasizing the importance of career and technical education.

Additionally, the meeting acknowledged a candle lighting ceremony held on June 5 for the adult education practical nursing class of 2026. This event marked a significant milestone for the students, celebrating their progress in the nursing program and honoring the legacy of Florence Nightingale. The ceremony fostered a sense of community, bringing together students, families, and friends for a night of recognition.

The board also highlighted a recent three-day career exploration event for seventh-grade students, where they engaged with interactive career stations using new career skills kits.
