Colleyville City Council approves litigation settlement and discusses resort hotel project

The Colleyville City Council convened on July 1, 2025, to address key community issues, including a significant resolution regarding litigation and updates on local events and projects.

One of the primary actions taken during the meeting was the unanimous approval of Resolution R-25-554, which authorizes the city manager to negotiate and settle litigation with C Green Scaping LP. This decision, made in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, aims to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Colleyville residents. The council emphasized that the resolution allows for discussions and negotiations, with further details to be reported back to the council once finalized.

In addition to the resolution, the council celebrated the success of the recent Stars and Guitars event, which featured a performance by Diamond Rio and a fireworks display. The event was well-received, with positive feedback from attendees, including a note from a neighboring city council member praising the organization and atmosphere. Plans are already underway to move next year’s event to the new Heroes Park, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The council also provided an update on the Northern Gateway Resort Hotel project. City officials recently hosted a site visit with the development team, who expressed enthusiasm for the project after touring the property. The city, as the landowner, is in the early stages of collaboration with the developer, having already approved a letter of interest for the property purchase.

As the meeting concluded, council members extended their wishes for a happy Fourth of July, reminding residents that city offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
