Little Miami academic team celebrates historic season at school board meeting

The Little Miami Local School District celebrated a historic achievement at the Board of Education meeting on June 30, 2025, as the academic team was recognized for their outstanding performance during the 2024-2025 season. The team not only finished as the Ohio State runner-up but also achieved a remarkable national ranking of 74th at the NAQT High School National Championship Tournament in Atlanta, marking the best finish in the program's history.

Coach Ron Maupin and assistant coach Thomas Sweeney highlighted the team's impressive record of 97 wins and 16 losses, the most victories ever for the program. This season also saw the team clinch their third consecutive Southwest Regional Championship, further solidifying their dominance in the area. Notably, team captain Brennan Hubbard was recognized as the top scorer in Ohio, and three players earned first-team honors in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference.

Maupin expressed gratitude for the support from parents, school administration, and the community, emphasizing that the team's success was a collective effort. He also acknowledged the growth of the junior varsity squad, praising players for stepping up and demonstrating leadership.
