Hickory Township showcases amateur radio capabilities for emergency communication

Amateur radio operators showcased their vital role in public safety during a recent demonstration at the Public Safety Building in Hickory Township, attended by Lawrence County officials. The event highlighted how these volunteers can step in during emergencies to ensure communication remains intact, a crucial service for the community.

Commissioner Saman emphasized the importance of the amateur radio league's collaboration with local public safety departments, noting their readiness to assist in times of crisis. This partnership reinforces the county's commitment to maintaining effective communication channels during emergencies.

In addition to the radio demonstration, Commissioner Saman shared insights from his recent attendance at a state conference for County Commissioners Associations, where he serves on the Workers Compensation Trust board. He expressed regret for missing other local events due to this commitment.
