Overland Park celebrates 30 years of Arts and Recreation Foundation achievements

The meeting also addressed the ongoing design work at Clock Tower Plaza, where demolition has begun, and the clock tower is temporarily out of service. The project is on schedule and within budget, with a final task order expected to be presented to the city council later this month.

Attendance at the Farmers Market was reported to be steady, with approximately 10,000 to 12,000 visitors on Saturdays. A shuttle service from City Hall to downtown continues to operate, facilitating access to the market.

The annual report from the Arts and Recreation Foundation highlighted the organization's significant contributions to the community, including over $2 million granted to the city since its inception. The new director, Sonia McClellan, emphasized the foundation's commitment to enhancing local facilities and programs, including the Arboretum and public art initiatives.
