Mountain Line to launch largest fixed route service expansion by July 27

Flagstaff's Mountain Line is set to undergo its largest fixed route service change, with implementation scheduled for July 27. This expansion includes the introduction of fixed route service along the Woody Mountain Corridor, which will also enhance paratransit services. The adjustments will improve accessibility and operational hours, benefiting residents who rely on public transportation.

City officials are actively collaborating with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to finalize plans for the Route 66 West Corridor. While stops on the north side of West Route 66 are expected to be confirmed, challenges remain on the south side due to ongoing construction and a lack of sidewalk infrastructure. However, local organizations, including Kit Carson and Wildwood Hills, are working together to ensure bus stop connectivity in this area. Although these stops will be included in the new ride guide, service is anticipated to begin later in the fall as infrastructure improvements are completed.

Additionally, the Coordinated Mobility Council will hold a meeting on August 22, providing an opportunity for community members to engage and gather more information about transportation initiatives. This meeting, typically held on the third Friday of the month, will take place from 10 AM to noon.
