City Council approves outdoor dining bar service and landscape plans

Bel Air's Planning Commission has made significant strides in enhancing local infrastructure and community amenities during their recent Town Hall meeting on July 3, 2025. The commission approved a revised site plan that includes 16 stacked parking spaces, which will improve accessibility for visitors and residents alike. This decision was made after careful consideration of pavement, stenciling, signage, and a chain barrier as outlined in the site plan.

In addition to parking improvements, the commission also greenlit a landscape plan that requires the submission and approval of a detailed bridal sport landscape plan before any building permits are issued. This plan includes a provision for a fee of $3,600 aimed at mitigating impacts on woodland areas and unique vegetation, ensuring that development aligns with environmental standards.

Another notable decision was the approval of a special development for outdoor dining and bar service. The commission confirmed that the proposed dining area meets all necessary performance standards, including restrictions on amplified music and live entertainment during nighttime hours. The outdoor space will be limited to 75% of the capacity of the main establishment, and any alcohol service will require approval from the Harford County Liquor Board.
