The meeting also featured testimony from Dennis Dakota, president of the California Service Station and Automotive Repair Association. Dakota, a San Francisco native, shared insights from his experience in the industry and discussed recent federal legislation aimed at banning price gouging at the pump. He highlighted the challenges faced by independent gas station owners, who often struggle to compete with larger chains.
