The City of San Francisco is set to welcome a new dining and event space in the Financial District, as plans for a bar and restaurant inside the lobby of the One Sansom Street building move forward. Phil Spiegel, the manager of the venue, presented the project during a recent government meeting, highlighting its potential to invigorate the area.
The establishment will operate under a single ownership team and is designed to cater to both the public and private events. The restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch during weekdays, transitioning into a happy hour spot in the evenings, with hours extending from 7:30 AM to midnight. Spiegel emphasized the importance of community engagement, noting that the venue will host various public events, including fitness classes and live music performances, particularly during special occasions like Fleet Week.
To ensure a harmonious relationship with the neighborhood, the team has conducted extensive outreach, sending over 500 letters to nearby businesses, all of which are non-residential. Notably, there was no opposition to the permit application, which includes provisions for live music during events such as weddings and corporate gatherings.
The project aims to activate the 8,000 square foot public space, which features stunning architectural elements like a glass ceiling and marble walls. The venue plans to host around 72 events annually, with a mix of private and public gatherings, ensuring that the Financial District remains vibrant and engaging.
As the project progresses, the management team is committed to adhering to sound regulations and maintaining a respectful atmosphere in this conservative neighborhood. The anticipated opening of this unique space promises to enhance the local dining scene and foster community connections in San Francisco.
