City Council approves multiple zoning changes and property sales in Hamilton

The Hamilton City Council meeting held on July 7, 2025, focused on several key recommendations, including zoning changes, property sales, and infrastructure improvements.

One of the primary discussions involved the approval of accounts payable bills for June 2025. A council member abstained from voting due to a potential conflict of interest, which was acknowledged and accepted by the council.

The council reviewed multiple zoning ordinance changes. Ordinance 2025-4 was passed to rezone 5.22 acres at 2021 Bexar Highway from R2 to B1 General Business District. Similarly, Ordinance 2025-5 was approved to change the zoning of 10.98 acres on Highway 278 East from R2 multifamily residential to a new designation. The council also authorized the purchase and installation of a new double-sided LED sign for the Hamilton parking lot, costing $21,500. This sign will replace an outdated one that has become unusable.
