Baldwin Park registers 352 runners for upcoming annual tight trot race

Baldwin Park's Recreation Commission Meeting on July 7 highlighted the growing enthusiasm for community events, particularly the upcoming Tight Trot half-mile run. This year, registration has surged, with 352 runners already signed up, a significant increase from last year's 192 at the same time. The event, which starts at 7:30 AM, offers free registration for local T-ball players and encourages participation from the Julien McNeil Senior Center's fitness club, showcasing a strong community spirit.

Last year, Baldwin Park boasted the highest participation rate, with 260 out of 897 total runners hailing from the city. The registration fee is set at $25 for the 5K and $31 for the 10K, with the option to register up to the morning of the race on August 2.

In addition to the excitement surrounding the Tight Trot, the meeting also touched on the community's response to recent events honoring fallen officer Riveros. Commissioner Anita expressed a desire for a permanent memorial to recognize the bravery of local law enforcement, reflecting the community's unity and appreciation for their service.
