City Council approves new liquor licenses for Sabor Mezcal and Tall Boys

The West Bend Common Council made significant strides in local business support during their July 7, 2025 meeting, approving multiple liquor licenses that will enhance the community's dining and entertainment options.

The council unanimously approved a Class B combo renewal liquor license for Sabor Mezcal, with no objections raised during the discussion. Alderman Zingsheim and Alderman Butchlick led the motion, ensuring the establishment can continue serving patrons without interruption.

In a notable development, the council also granted a new Class B combo liquor license for Tall Boys. This application arose due to the dissolution of the previous LLC by the former owner, necessitating a reapplication under a new LLC. The new owner, Mr. Ryan, is finalizing occupancy permits and repairs, with plans to open soon. The council emphasized that if the establishment does not open within 90 days, they will revisit the license for potential revocation.

Additionally, the council approved a new cigarette license application and discussed the upcoming renewal process for liquor licenses, noting that Applebee's has permanently closed. This closure will free up a regular liquor license, which will be advertised for new applications in the coming months.
