Trustee Steve hosts fourth annual MS walk in Dolan this Saturday

Trustee Steve kicked off the Village of Dolton's Regular Board Meeting with an enthusiastic reminder about his upcoming annual walk for multiple sclerosis, scheduled for Saturday at 9:30 AM. This event aims to raise awareness for autoimmune diseases and invites community members to participate, whether by walking or simply enjoying the festivities, including food and music.

Trustee Norwood followed with a series of announcements highlighting events at Dolton Park. She encouraged residents to check the park district's website for a variety of activities, including a free senior prom this Friday and an engaging murder mystery night later in July. Additionally, she shared that a resident resource event has been postponed to July 23, and she celebrated two local students who received scholarships from the Southland Regional Mayor of Black Caucus.

Norwood also announced a youth job fair happening this Friday from 11 AM to 3 PM, where young residents can connect with employers and receive assistance with resumes, thanks to partnerships with local organizations.

Trustee Stan Brown added to the excitement by promoting "Wind Down Wednesday" events at Dolton Park, featuring live jazz music throughout July and August. He also invited community members to join in on Saturday afternoons for friendly softball games with local firefighters and police officers, fostering camaraderie among residents and neighboring municipalities.

The meeting concluded with a sense of community spirit, as trustees encouraged participation in local events that promote health, entertainment, and youth engagement.
