Mohave County Board approves new RV resort and commercial development plans

A new 5-star RV resort is set to transform Mohave Valley, Arizona, following a unanimous approval from the Board of Supervisors. The gated resort, designed to cater to high-end Class A motorhomes, will feature 220 to 240 spacious sites, complete with pull-through access, an on-site office, clubhouse, and pool. The project, which is expected to cost over $4 million, aims to boost the local economy and will be operational for approximately eight months each year.

The resort will enforce strict rules, including a reservation requirement and a ban on certain vehicle types, ensuring a tranquil environment with designated quiet hours from 8 PM to 8 AM. With 24-hour security and a 25-foot buffer from nearby residential areas, developers are committed to maintaining community standards.

In addition to the RV resort, the Board also approved a complementary open lot storage facility for RVs and boats, addressing the needs of those who prefer not to transport their vehicles long distances. This facility will include indoor and outdoor storage options, further enhancing the area's appeal to travelers.

The meeting also saw discussions on a proposed amendment to the Mohave County General Plan, shifting land use designations to accommodate a multifamily development in Golden Valley. While the project aims to provide additional housing options, it has faced opposition from local residents concerned about its impact on the rural character of the neighborhood.
