Spalding County honors Debbie Brooks for 30 years of service as superior court clerk

Spalding County celebrated the remarkable contributions of its public servants during the regular session on July 7, 2025. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of Debbie Brooks, the elected clerk of superior and state courts, for her 30 years of dedicated service. Brooks, who began her career in the clerk's office in 1995, has played a crucial role in the administration of justice in Spalding County. Her leadership has led to significant advancements, including the implementation of a digital filing system and online notary applications, enhancing accessibility for residents.

Brooks' commitment extends beyond administrative duties; she actively engages in community outreach, supporting programs that assist individuals navigating the legal system. Her collaboration with local organizations, such as Promise Place, ensures that vulnerable populations receive the justice and protection they need. Reelected in 2024, Brooks continues to uphold the integrity and accountability of the clerk's office, making it a cornerstone of trust in the community.

The meeting also honored two other dedicated employees, Corporal Dodgill and Corporal Parks, for their long-standing service. Dodgill, who has been with the Department of Operations since 1996, is recognized for her nurturing presence and community contributions. Parks, a jack of all trades, has been instrumental in saving the county significant costs through his skills in maintenance and his remarkable ability to remember every inmate at the facility.
