Southbridge School Committee elects Britney Davidson as chair and Carla as vice chair

The meeting commenced with the election of a new chairperson. Carla initiated the nominations, proposing Britney Davidson, who accepted the nomination. Martina Shay was also nominated and accepted. A vote was conducted, resulting in a decisive 6-1 victory for Davidson, with one abstention.

Following the chairperson election, nominations for the vice chair were opened. Carla was nominated and, with no other candidates put forward, the committee unanimously voted in favor of her appointment, with one abstention noted.

After the reorganization, the meeting transitioned to regular business. Roll call confirmed the presence of all committee members. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, followed by the approval of minutes from the previous meeting, which passed without corrections.

Chairperson Davidson expressed gratitude for her election and emphasized her commitment to the committee's goals, including the ongoing DESE plan.
