Boise receives JustServe City and Global City Awards for volunteerism

Boise has officially earned recognition on the global stage for its commitment to volunteerism. During the Boise City Council meeting on July 9, 2025, Jim Valentine and Chris Brooker from JustServe presented the city with two prestigious awards: the Just Served City Award and the Just Served Global City Award.

JustServe, a platform connecting volunteers with service opportunities, highlighted Boise's exceptional dedication to community engagement. Valentine noted that Boise is now one of only ten cities worldwide to receive the global accolade, joining a select group that includes cities from the United States, Canada, and beyond.

With over 150 organizations listed on the JustServe website and 81 active projects available for residents, the initiative underscores the strong volunteer spirit in Boise. Mayor and council members expressed pride in this achievement, emphasizing the importance of community service in the city's identity.

The awards will be further celebrated at the National League of Cities City Summit in Salt Lake this November, marking a significant milestone for Boise as it continues to foster a culture of volunteerism and community support.
