Millbrae City Council reviews major developments and business openings near Millbrae Station

Millbrae City Council has outlined significant developments in the city during its regular meeting on July 8, 2025, highlighting ongoing construction projects and new business openings that promise to enhance the local economy and community infrastructure.

The council provided updates on several key projects, notably the 1 Meadow Glen development, which is transforming the former Office Depot site into a six-story mixed-use building. This project will feature 278 residential units, including 26 affordable units, and over 17,000 square feet of retail space. Construction is expected to continue through spring 2027, with occasional road closures along Broadway to facilitate the work. Residents and businesses will be kept informed about these closures.

Another major initiative is the 1301 Broadway project, which will provide 97 fully affordable housing units. Construction is set to begin imminently following the recent demolition of the former dentist office on the site. The city has also secured $21,300 in funding from the California Municipal Finance Authority to support this development.
