VMI Foundation reports significant growth in endowment and announces leadership transition

The VMI Board of Visitors convened on May 3, 2025, to discuss significant developments regarding the institution's financial health and infrastructure improvements. The meeting highlighted the impressive growth of the VMI Foundation's endowment, which has surged from approximately $200 million in 2011 to $800 million today. This increase translates to nearly $596,925 allocated per cadet in the core, generating around $21,000 annually for each cadet.

During the meeting, board member David expressed pride in these financial achievements and acknowledged the contributions of Anesto, the outgoing president of the VMI Foundation, who has served diligently for two years and previously on the VMI Investment Holdings LLC. David emphasized the importance of alumni and friends in ensuring responsible stewardship of donations to the institute.

The board also addressed the upcoming renovation of Moody Hall, which is expected to enhance operational efficiencies by consolidating services into a single location. This change is particularly crucial as the institution faces space constraints in Rockford County, especially with an increasing number of larger classes.
