FUSD honors exceptional drivers Jen, Dustin, and Donna for their dedication

During the Florence Unified School District (FUSD) Board Meeting on July 9, 2025, several dedicated employees were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the district, highlighting the importance of commitment and care in the educational environment.

Jen, a van driver for FUSD, was celebrated for her outstanding service to students with exceptional needs. Her warm demeanor and attentiveness create a positive atmosphere for her riders, ensuring they start their day on the right foot. Parents have expressed their appreciation, often inquiring about her when she is unavailable, underscoring the strong relationships she builds with families.

Dustin Hastings, the training coordinator at the Post And Butte location, was also acknowledged for his impactful role in training new drivers. His calm and encouraging approach fosters a supportive learning environment, helping employees at all experience levels master their driving skills. His initiative and willingness to assist others have made a significant difference in the training process.

Lastly, Donna Lewis, a special needs bus driver with 14 years of experience, was recognized for her expertise and dedication. Known for her perfectionism and strong relationships with students and families, Donna celebrates her students' achievements, demonstrating her deep commitment to their well-being.
