Olympia City Council approves Ocean as Poet Laureate for 2025 to 2027

Under the warm glow of city hall lights, the Olympia City Council convened on July 8, 2025, to discuss significant cultural initiatives, including the appointment of the city’s next Poet Laureate. Stephanie Johnson, the Arts Program Manager, along with Kathy Dorgan, Chair of the Arts Commission, presented the recommendation for the Poet Laureate for the term 2025 to 2027.
